OMG! Can't believe NOBODY has done this, can't find any online posts, so I ~HAD~ to post this! We replaced our fresh water drain valve last year, yes, it's plastic, and yep, it broke. When it happened again at the beginning of the season, we just couldn't replace it with ~another~ cheap plastic valve, so we went to the plumbing section of our local hardware store, in this case, it was Sanger Nursery, and viola'! Yep, there were the 2 parts of our 'NEW', never will break again, Fresh Water Drain Valve!!! For $7.38 we will never, ever, ever, have to replace our Fresh Water Drain Valve again, ever. Really. I kid you not. If you've ever seen this, or heard of it, or have even done it, please let me know! I really tried to find somebody online who had done this. Maybe it's because they sell the cheap plastic replacements for under $5 buck~a~ronies, and it's just easier to get it, and get it again, and again. It is easy to use those little buggers, but dang, so was our ~'NEW'~ idea!

BONUS: When we drain, we can connect a 'real' hose, and direct it where we want it! No more buckets, no more waiting & waiting for the tiny little drain valve to drain!

DOUBLE BONUS! :)

I probably don't have to list the parts...it's really rather obvious...but since the barbed adapter isn't showing, I'll show what it's like. Just wanted to be sure to post this ASAP, to help out anyone looking to replace their fresh water tank drain valve.

The total is including some 'dirt' we bought, yeah, we buy dirt, and sometimes water, ain't that crazy? Thought I'd never buy bottled water, who would, when it comes right outta the faucet? Haha, things have changed, indeed. :)

Here is the 'Barbed Adapter', probably available in any hardware store that carries fittings. Of course, you can get male/female ends on either part, whatever you find, will work. It doesn't have to be like we did it. You might find the faucet/hose bib side with a male end, so just look for the barbed adapter with a female end. Either way, Just DO IT!

The faucet part, along with 2 hose washers, fit right into the metal mounting bracket, no additional drilling for the 1/2" fittings! Screw it, & forget it! LOL! :D

(We were ready to 'adapt' the bracket, but it already had a 1/2" hole! It's almost like you're ~supposed~ to eventually figure this out!) :)

The hose clamp was already on the hose, so we basically just had to put a washer on each side of the mounting bracket with the barbed adapter in the hole, oh, and plumbers tape on the treads, of course, screw on the female side of the faucet, and viola', you are done. Takes all of 5 minutes.

WHO WOULDN'T DO THIS?!?!!!

OMG. Guess I'm easily impressed. :)
